Mev's family came to Rochester as refugees. Growing up, he understood what that meant before he could fully explain it. That nothing is given. That you show up every day. That building something great takes grit, patience, and a whole lot of work. That mindset never left him.

Every summer he was back in Bosnia, a chance to reconnect with where he came from. The culture, the people, the way things were done over there. The toughness, the hospitality, the pride in doing things right. He carried that back with him every time. You see it in how he works.

He picked up a pair of clippers at 20 and never looked back. Not because it was handed to him. Because he put in the time, got good, and built a clientele the old-fashioned way. Word of mouth. Showing up. Doing the work.

Walk in and Mev will probably already be talking to somebody about last night's game. The shop is laid back, no attitude, good conversation. The kind of place where you don't mind waiting because you're not really waiting. You're just hanging out with good people.
